This year the entry list stood at the full 300, however of the entrants only 239 showed up on the day with 236 completing the course. A very well done to all who competed, we hope you enjoyed it. I am particularly pleased that the rain decided to affect us on Saturday in setting up, and left you alone on the day! I can assure you that the event may have the appearance of a swan gliding along gracefully but its little legs have been going like mad under the water for a few weeks! As always we are indebted to countless local people who gave up their time and Sunday lie-ins to help out, not only on the day, but in preparing for the event as well. Firstly, to all the volunteers who provided a multitude of skills to ensure that the day went smoothly. Without their help the event would not be possible. To Chris and Ali Boon of Yeovil Cycle Centre (Tri UK) who provided us with the race numbers and promotional materials. Gill Allen for managing the final timing results station and Sandy Greenham for assisting me with the entry list. Nick Evans, the Race Director and all round nice guy, who ran around keeping everyone happy. Mike Regan and John Wright who started us off in the pool, Steve Allen who ran the transition area and James Dean on the run route. To both Curry Rivel and Langport Scout Groups who assisted with the timing stations and provided refreshments respectively. Particular thanks this year to the local Rotarians who supervised the car parking arrangements, which went very smoothly this year. Huish Episcopi School and Governors and in particular Steve Tilly (Groundsman). A special mention to YHC (Glastonbury), Brandons Tool Hire (Yeovil), Sun Traffic Signs, local Police, Highways Department and our local landowners who allowed us use of their land without which the event would not be possible. Thanks to members of staff at the Sports Centre, some of whom gave up some of their own valuable time to ensure the event ran smoothly. Finally our thanks to Cathy Vigar, Chris Cox and the team from the Red Cross who had little to do but are always the first to offer their services at events such as ours. We all had a great day and hope you did too. If you have any ideas that you think may help us to run a more efficient triathlon next year please let me know. A note for your diary - next years event, Sunday, 25 September 2005. Jerry Cooke Sports Centre Manager TVR hOE856OJQJ\]^JhOE8 hOE8CJhOE8H*OJQJ^JhOE8OJQJ^J Q R e g hi'($a$(rs$a$,1h.
